What is a Nanny?
A nanny is a caregiver who is aware of and practiced in the safe and responsible care of children.
A nanny's primary responsibilities are the care and safety of the children. However the following are also
duties that a nanny may engage in:
- Promoting
the physical, emotional, social, imaginative and intellectual development of children.
- Preparation of healthy, nutritious
snacks and meals.
- Light housekeeping duties and/or organizational tasks, particularly in relation to the children's
areas.
What Type of Nanny Do I Need?
Full-Time
Permanent Nanny
A full time nanny is a nanny who works 40 hours a week or more for a period
of more than 4 months. Please be advised that any nanny working more than 40 hours per week must be paid overtime
pay.
Part-Time Permanent Nanny
A part-time nanny
is a nanny who works less than 40 hours per week for a period of over 4 months.
Temporary
Nanny
A temporary nanny is a nanny who is hired to work anywhere from 2-4 months. Many
families hire a nanny for the summer only.
